New! The Sergery is now selling Fabrics!
What a trip the last few months have been. For those who haven't been following my adventures in my emails, (sign up at the bottom of this page, you'll also get the best deals and discounts!) I've spoken to so many people, touched a heap of fabrics, found treasure, found treasure that blew my budget, found treasures with price tags that made me wonder what the catch was. But! Even with my limited beginning budget, I have put together a beautiful sampling of fabrics for your stashes that will hopefully make your heart flutter as much as they made mine.
So let's have a closer look, shall we? ✨🧵✨
Bamboo Jersey knit:
*Swoon!* This has been a favourite of mine since I worked in manufacturing, it's simply luscious, with a light glamourous sheen for a fancier-than-cotton touch for your knit sewing projects, and it drapes luxuriously 😍 Making it perfect for cowls, twists, drapes and gathers. I have labelled this initial bamboo jersey lightweight despite being 200 GSM as there is also a heavier weight I am looking to stock in the future.
Cupro, Linen Tencel Blend:
If ever a fabric has made me do a double-take it's this one. I've never seen a blend like it so I had to bring it to you! It's like a drapier linen with a strong linear texture and a lot of colour depth. At 140 GSM it is on the lighter side, making it ideal for woven tops, blouses and summery dresses. With two star shades available today I am keen to bring you more colours ASAP.
Medium Weight Organic Cotton Jersey:
What a hero! A gorgeous staple for knit projects this cotton jersey is Oekotex 100 standard certified, Manufactured in Australia(!), Australian Certified Organic, and made from Fairtrade Certified cotton fibres. I mean how good is that? It's a quality 180 GSM 👕 and available in a staple range of colours. I am looking to hand dye some more colours myself to extend the range. I think it will Ice dye beautifully.
Truly the best for an Australian Summer, linen has a place in every wardrobe. My lightweight version will make up into gorgeous tops, flowy dresses and of course the ubiquitous linen shirt. ✔️ There's also some gingham in there too for those with a keen eye. I'm keen for some perfectly flowy tank tops, who's with me?
This is for the bargain hunters, a collection of one-off finds otherwise considered waste in the fashion industry, at reduced prices ✨ Unlike previously discussed fabrics these will be nearly impossible to get my hands on again so if you see something you like, you'd better jump on it as my supplies are limited and once they're gone, they're gone.
I'm deeply keen to expand on this with my favourite tools and notions, but for now I have sourced my most trusted OLFA rotary cutter, blades and Schmetz sewing needles for you to add to your sewing supply box. Because gorgeous fabric just doesn't turn into gorgeous clothes without the right tools! ✂️
You can easily find all of these, and soon much more in the Sewing Shop Menu at the top of the page, otherwise just click here to be taken there now.
